What's the dress code?


Sunday Dinner/Welcome Reception

Wear your letters! Dress casual. Casual is jeans or khakis; T-shirts or collared shirt/polo are acceptable. Remember, there will be a speaker, so casual doesn't mean sloppy. You should still be presentable.  After the speaker, we will do some ice breakers, the T-shirt exchange and banner contest.

 

Cornell Campus Tours

Business casual. Bring jackets and/or umbrellas just in case. No sandals on the AgTours; close-toed shoes are mandatory.

 

Monday Evening

Casual attire. Wear your letters. May also need jacket, depending on weather and the activity.

 

AgTours

Business casual. All tour tracks have the possibility of having mud, depending on the weather. Bring jackets and/or umbrellas just in case. No sandals on the AgTours; close-toed shoes are mandatory.

 

Workshops

Business professional dress for the Tuesday afternoon workshops/Conclave and Ag Showcase. Business professional attire is a suit or sport coat, button-up dress shirt, tie, slacks and dress shoes for gentlemen. Dress (professional, not cocktail), blouse, slacks, skirt or suit is appropriate for ladies.

 

Tuesday Evening Banquet - professional or formal attire required.

 

Can we pay with separate checks/credit cards?

Yes, you may pay with separate checks or a single check; single or separate Visa or MasterCards. Checks may be made payable to Alpha Zeta. All attendees must register online. Payment must be received prior to the Conference.

 

Is hotel included in the student registration?

Yes, lodging is included in the student registration fee for the quad and double room rates. Please indicate a roommate preference on your registration form. If possible, you will be placed with that person. All rooms will be single sex. Alumni and advisors will not be placed with student members, unless specified.

 

Who should attend?

Every chapter should send at least one delegate to represent the chapter's interests in the Conclave General Session. All student members, advisors, alumni, associate and honorary members are invited and strongly encouraged to attend. Guests and students from universities wishing to start AZ chapters are also welcome.

 

Industry leaders and corporate partners are invited and may also request space at the Ag Showcase. Contact Alpha Zeta at (636) 449-5090 for more information.

 

What do I need to bring?

Student members should bring a pen or pencil, notebook and a positive attitude to all meetings and workshops. If you have access to a laptop computer, you are welcome to bring it as well. Don't forget proper attire for all events and your AZ pin for all formal and business affairs. There will be a T-shirt exchange Sunday evening. Please bring an AZ T-shirt or university T-shirt to share/exchange.

 

Chapters should bring a chapter banner for the banner contest.

 

How can my chapter host a Conclave or NALC?

Chapters interested in bidding on the 2014 NALC may contact the National Office or submit Form #10 "Conclave or NALC Intent to Bid". Bids must be submitted to AZ Executive Director, Teresa Lee, a year in advance of the Conclave or NALC for which the chapter is bidding. Chapters should be prepared to solicit for sponsorships, donations or grants to support the conference.

 

What if I need to cancel?

Registrants must cancel 30 days before the start of the event for full refund. Within 30 days, all registrations carry a 50 percent per person penalty for processing, hotel and meal guarantees. No refunds will be given for cancellations within 5 days of the event.

 

All refunds will be issued after the conference. No refunds will be issued for banquet tickets. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the national office. Please inform the national office in advance if you cannot attend.

 

Can we substitute another person if the registered member cannot attend?

Yes, there will be a $25 substitution fee up to 14-days in advance. Within 14 days, the substitution fee is $50.

 

Do I need my AZ pin?

Yes. Members should wear their pins at all formal events, especially national conferences. Wear your pin as part of your business and formal attire during meetings, workshops and banquets.

 

How do I get a roommate?

Lodging is included in the registration fee. Student participants will be matched first with (same-sex) members from their own chapter. You may be matched with other attendees from other chapters. Rooms will be in groups of four or two, depending on your registration preferences.
