Roundtable interviews were held the Sunday before our Retreat in our chapter’s meeting room.  Applicants with valid reasons for not being able to attend the interviews were invited to interview on the following Wednesday, when we have our regular business meetings.  These interviews are the next step in the North Carolina Chapter’s recruitment process for new brothers.  Everyone who came out to Rush events was invited to come on Sunday for a formal interview in front of the Brotherhood.  A slide show opened the interviews that presented our chapter activities.  Then, each potential candidate was asked to choose one of the four pillars of AZ that he or she felt was the most important.  We then asked questions to learn about each of their interests and why they wanted to join our Fraternity.  After each candidate left, we discussed the positive and negative aspects of the interviews and voted on their admission.  In order to receive a “bid” into the Fraternity, the potential candidate must receive 85% of the votes.  If they received the necessary percentage, our Censor contacted them to extend the bid, and all of the candidates accepted their bids!  Our Brothers also provided breakfast for the Brotherhood and the potential candidates who were interviewed.
