AZ Cornell Volleyball Team

Throughout this fall semester, Alpha Zeta Cornell was represented in the co-recreational intramural volleyball games. Our team had a successful season this year, making it the playoffs! We were very happy to do better than last year. It sure helps that one of our AZ sisters is on the club women's volleyball team. Though, everyone played great and in the end, it was all about having a lot of fun together. We are excited for the next intramural sports season!

This fall, we participated in one of our annual community service events, the Adopt-A-Highway program. Every year. Alpha Zeta Cornell sponsors a section of a local roadway in Ithaca. Our members, along with our just newly initiated brothers and sisters, started their Saturday morning by heading out to this road section armed with orange safety vests, garbage bags, and gloves. The past week was the last week of October, so of course that only meant one thing...scary movies! In the spirit of Halloween, we gathered in our formal room to watch popular horror movies together. On Monday, October 27 the Cornell Cinema on campus showed the movie Farmland. This documentary follows the lives of farmers and ranchers in their 20's who are all responsible for running their farming business. Taking viewers directly inside the world of young farmers, this is a great movie for those who do not know much about the people who grow their food. In the festive spirit of October, members of our chapter headed to a local pumpkin patch to take advantage of a special deal on pumpkins.There was one catch though...you had to take as many pumpkins as you could carry in your own hands. Cornell Chapter National Initiation Fall 2014

On October 18, 2014 the Cornell Chapter held the formal initiation ceremony in which 14 of our active members were nationally initiated. We also welcomed Richard Ball, the commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, to be initiated as an associate member.
