On the morning of October 12, we organized a new member service project. This semester we held the project at the Rutgers Gardens, a large garden including various trees, a pine forest, a bamboo grove and many other varieties of plants. The brothers and new members spent several hours working together to mulch and clean portions of the gardens.

On December 6th, 2013 the Cal Delta Chapter initiated seven new members. This ceremony was held at the end of our Fall Quarter Rush. By immediately taking on new responsibilities and increasing our presence on campus, these new initiates have demonstrated exactly why they were perfect for Alpha Zeta in the first place. Roundtable interviews were held the Sunday, January 26th at 9:00 am in our chapter meeting room in Weaver hall. This interview is the next step in the North Carolina Chapter's recruitment process for new brothers. On Tuesday January 20th, we held our first Rush event in the Williams hall activity room.  We had 4 potential candidates come out to get to know us and receive applications.  Our committee heads and officers spoke on our many activities, and then we showed a slide show of activities. We enjoyed Little Caesar’s pizza and deserts made by brothers. On January 30, the Cornell chapter welcomed 14 new members with our pinning and bid acceptance ceremony.  Our new members will now begin our new member education program, where they will learn chapter history, AZ history, traditions, AZ's impact on our campus, as well as bond and have fun while getting to know active members and alumni! On November 19th, we at the Florida Chapter were very proud to induct twenty three new brothers and sisters into the fraternity of Alpha Zeta. Those inducted were selected for candidacy from a pool of twenty seven applicants, and each one has demonstrated a strong dedication to both our ideals, and the fraternity itself. I'm excited to see their contribution to our chapter, and I'm glad they're here to carry us into the future.

On November 13, 2013 the Cal Epsilon Chapter held a shop day in the Fresno State Agricultural Mechanics Shop in which the new member candidates could come and create their own handcrafted Alpha Zeta paddle. This event was absolutely free of charge for the new member candidates. Custom paddles through the local woodworking shops typically range anywhere from twenty to seventy dollars, quite an expense.

On November 13, 2013 the Cal Epsilon Chapter held the New Member Alpha Zeta test under the direction of Censor, Brittany Hitchcock.  After attending various New Member Education seminars and Alpha Zeta trivia study sessions throughout the semester, the Cal Epsilon new member candidates were ready to take their initiation test.
