To get our word out about our information sessions, we set up our boards on the brickyard September 7th and 8th. Brothers stood at the boards in between classes so that if a student had questions about Alpha Zeta they could answer them. We had several students who were interested. This was a good time for the brotherhood to interact with other students and each other.

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences supplies our chapter with a list of students who are the top 2/5ths of the college. The students are then sent an invitation to join Alpha Zeta. Tuesday was the start of the busy week of pledging events. The introduction meeting allows the Pledge Master, Chancellor, and Censor to tell the students what we are about. Members also got the chance to interact with attendees and tell them about their experiences in AZ and the events we do on top of what was discussed in the meeting...

The event starts 3 hours before kick-off and consisted of lunch and tabling of various organizations and departments. This fundraiser at Coldstone Creamery was a chance for members to come out and meet up with each other outside of lectures and relax. Members were allowed to invite the customers into the store and share a little about Alpha Zeta while they waited on their icecream. A lucky few got to work the line mixing icecream for customers and serenade them for tips! Some of the lyrics went like "Scooby Dooby Doo.. We scoop for you.. We hope you like your icecream.. Money in the jar gives us gas for our car.. So we'd really like to thank you!" We received a portion of the sales made during our shift from 5-8 p.m. A lot of members had a blast helping out and raising money for the chapter.

The Cornell Chapter holds a formal recruitment in both the fall and spring semesters. Our fall Rush is two weeks long and we are just finishing up our second week. All actives are required to participate in at least some part of rush and several alumni have been present for events as well. Events have consisted of an open dinner at our house every night and fun activities in the evening including go-karting, bowling, a bbq, a "lawn flick" (drive-in style!), laser tag, and several other events throughout the two weeks. We have been very happy with the number of potential members that have visited the house and look forward to bid acceptance next week!

Alpha Zeta Coffee Break

On January 26th Cal-Epsilon hosted Coffee Beak with Alpha Zeta. We provided coffee and donuts in the Agriculture quad to all passing students. All of our chapter officers were present and handed out flyers about Alpha Zeta. It was a welcome back event that helped promote Alpha Zeta in our Agriculture College. The flyers had fun facts about Alpha Zeta and information about how to join. The event was a success and we hope that it will bring even more members into our thriving chapter!
