The Florida Chapter headed out to Tijuana Flats after our chapter meeting for their weekly Taco Tuesday. Members and pledges came out to catch up on what has been going on and get to know each other more so that the pledges can make a smooth transition into the chapter in less than a month! The dinner gave us an opportunity to relax and just hang out as friends without the stressors of school glooming over us. Members and pledges chowed down on tacos and tried out the many hot sauces from the hot sauce bar. We hope that this dinner after meetings becomes a regular event to give us a chance to become a closer AZ family!

The Florida Chapter held a fundraiser at TCBY from 8-9 PM where we receive a certain percentage of the profits from the night. Members and pledges came out to meet up with each other and catch up on what has been going on and get to know each other more so that the pledges can make a smooth transition into the chapter once initiated. The fundraiser gave us an opportunity to offset some of the fees associated with our chapter. Of course, what better way to do this than while eating ice cream! Members and pledges chowed down on frozen yogurt and ice cream of all kinds while enjoying the company of members.

NC Flag Football

NC Flag Football

Originally posted by Ashley J. Kirby

Every fall semester, the North Carolina Chapter forms a co-ed intramural flag football team to play against other organizations on campus. This year, we played two games on Tuesday September 4th and Tuesday September 11th at 7:30. In order to register with Student Recreation, at least four females and four males had to sign up to participate about a week before the first game. Alpha Zeta won the first game against Alpha Omega in a 10-0 shutout. The second game was very close, but the team did not pull it out.  Each game lasted about an hour. Playing football is a great way for brothers to have fun, relieve stress, and provides a break from studying. Brothers can also work on their teamwork and communication skills. The NC chapter also participates in other sports such as soccer and volleyball.

The North Carolina Chapter is lucky to have such a supportive network of alumni both locally and internationally. Alumni frequently come back for chapter meetings and sponsor events such as Agriculture Awareness Week on campus. Members of the Leadership and Government Relations Committee have been looking for ways to involve more alumni in chapter activities. The committee is working with advisors to coordinate an alumni speaker series. Our first speaker, Rory Roten met with the 35 brothers on August 29th at 7:30pm.

Many students were interested and brothers were happy to share their experiences in Alpha Zeta. The smell of s'mores filled the air and harvested a large crowd.
