October 18th, 2014 marked the 113th Alpha Zeta annual meeting at the Cornell Chapter. The meeting was located at our house and was conducted after enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by our house chef.. Many alumni and current members were present as well as representatives from our Corporation Board, High Council and CALS Charitable Trust. Our Chancellor gave a report on what activities our chapter has been doing this past year. Reports were given from the Corporation Board and from the High Council too. Also, a few of our fortunate actives were awarded with prestigious scholarships. Lastly, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Charitable Trust, an endowment formed by alumni of CALS that provides financial support for academic enrichment with preference towards AZ members, gave their annual financial report. Two of our actives also spoke about the experiences they had used their generous grants for: spending a summer taking a Field Animal Behavior course at Shoals Marine Laboratory on Appledore Island and gaining practical veterinary experiences working with exotic animal species through an internship at a zoo in Miami, Florida. Overall, the meeting was a great time for alumni and current members to come together.
