Our service committee organized an Alpha Zeta sponsored Red Cross Blood Drive on the North Carolina State University Campus in the Talley Student Center on March 23.  Our duties were to publicize the event on campus and to assist at the donor site.  Brothers displayed banners and fliers across the campus two days prior to the event.

On the day of the drive, brothers signed up for 1 hour shifts from 11:00am-4:00pm.  Our duties were check donors in, giving them a name tag and providing them with reading material highlighting the requirements of donating blood.  We had 4 or more representatives at the event at all times.  We also served snacks and drinks to donors after they had given blood.  Red Cross provided free t-shirts!

The Red Cross set a goal of 70 donors for our event, and we had over 75 people check-in to donate.  7 Alpha Zeta brothers donated at the event, while a total of 18 helped throughout the day.  The Red Cross states that one donor can save up to three lives.  This event was an excellent way for us to serve the community at large, and enabled us to promote service to the NC State community.
