The Rally is an annual service event hosted by the city of Gainesville. It is a one day volunteer powered event that works to remove trash and invasive plant species that grow within the cities nature parks. A group of 7 brothers from the Florida chapter registered together to participate in this event. The brothers earned up to 2 service hours for their hard work as a team to remove invasive plant species from our designated site. Our designated site was Bivens Arm Nature park and our focus was removing the air potato plant from this area. With shovels in hand, it was not an easy task to dig up these plants, but we definitely had fun performing this service to the city of Gainesville to which we call home. We collected over 8 bags of these plants within the 2 hours that we were there and it left us with an amazing feeling. After our hard work, the brothers were invited to go to a volunteer celebration which we collected our free t-shirts for participating and were able to eat some food.
