Scott Stevens will be receiving his DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine this May. Stevens received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science from Texas A&M in May 2004.

Stevens' involvement as an undergraduate student at A&M was impressive. His team of four won second place at the National Academic Quaddratholon held in Montgomery, Alabama in late January 2004. Stevens served as the junior and senior Poultry Science Department representative in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council at A&M.

In addition to these honors, he was elected as an officer in the Texas Alpha Chapter of Alpha Zeta, and was chosen to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

He has also been active in Texas A&M's Saddle and Sirloin Club over the years.

Besides being involved in college and organizational work, he also worked part-time for the Poultry Health Laboratory at the Veterinary Pathobiology Center and taught several lab classes for the College of Agriculture. At the 2004 Poultry Science Banquet, Stevens was awarded the prestigious Quisenberry Award, an award that recognizes the most outstanding Poultry Science student at Texas A&M University.

Throughout his undergraduate career he maintained a 4.0 grade point average in his major. In May 2005, Stevens received his Master's Degree in Poultry Science from Texas A&M and was accepted into the doctorate program the following summer. After working one year on his doctorate degree, he was accepted into Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine where he began his studies in the Fall of 2006.

Upon graduation from Veterinary School, Scott and his wife, Kandace, will be moving to Floresville, where he will be working at Deason Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian. His specialty is large animal.
