On November 7th the Florida Chapter went out of town to throw down in the woods!  Our Woodser this year was at a brother’s house in Alachua, Florida, so it was a little bit of a drive for most, but it was worth it for the good time.  We enjoyed homemade pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and rolls. And of course when you have a big bonfire, s’mores are mandatory!  Brothers sat around the fire and enjoyed each other’s company in the presence of a full moon so bright, we couldn’t even see the stars. Woodser was paid for out of the budget this year with the only fee to brothers being a $3.00 reservation fee as to get a headcount.  All in all, it was an amazing night that allowed our close-knit family to grow that much closer!

This Veteran’s Day, the Florida Chapter traveled to Orlando, Florida for our annual Sea World Trip.  Our journey began at 6:30 am at the University of Florida where we loaded into cars and began the two-hour trek down south.  Upon arrival we had a behind-the-scenes educational tour of the Arctic animal exhibits.  We visited the beluga whales and penguins and got up close and personal with the seals and sea lions.  Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made sure to answer all of our questions. ...

The pledges finally met their Bigs! The brothers of the Florida Chapter gathered on October 21st to reveal themselves to their Littles. The reveal happened during a Halloween themed potluck that the pledges put together. The brothers were dressed in costume and the pledges had an assigned costume that matched their Big. The Florida Chapter had their last pledge meeting this past Tuesday November 4th. It was a bittersweet moment. Pledges finally finished their stressful 7 week process and were successful in fulfilling all of their requirements. On November 2nd pledges went to the Ronald McDonald House to partake in the "Sweets N' Treats" program, where they made brownies and cookies for roughly 30 families. The pledge class completely supplied the ingredients for the event, each bringing in two items.
