On Friday October 11th, a group of brothers went to landscape the Key, which was recently moved to the Bill Fike crops garden. Brothers dug a large hole for a golden mop bush and spread landscape fabric to prevent weeds from sprouting through the top layer of mulch. Once that was done brothers cut small pieces of stone to act as stepping stones around the key. Seminar 2's purpose was to broaden the perspective of new members to prepare them for Brazilian culture as well as educate them about diversity. This was accomplished by having all new members go through Open Doors (diversity) training,  hearing from a Veteran's panel to learn more about the military, community service (volunteering at a food bank in Springfield, OH), and hearing from a LGBTQ panel.

Seminar 1's purpose was to develop the leadership skills of our new members, allow them to bond and grow as a team, and learn about their personal character. This seminar is a vital part of bringing new members into our chapter and is essential to the personal development of our incoming members. In order to put on this event time and funds had to be reserved to rent rooms at a camp, activities had to be planned, speakers lined up and informational packets had to be put together for the members.

The Cornell Chapter of AZ had our semester pinning on the evening of September 12th. Pinning is the event where we begin our new member education program, and find out who our new members will be. In September, the College of Agriculture at Chico State University held a New Student BBQ for freshman and transfer students. At this event, Alpha Zeta Eta was able to present all of the upcoming opportunities to get students involved in the agriculture community. The barbeque had a wonderful turn out and AZE was able to talk to numerous freshmen and transfer students about what the fraternity has to offer as well as the recruitment process. We are excited about all of the new students who are showing enthusiasm for Alpha Zeta!
