On Friday, November 30, 2012, brothers and alumni held a Mary Kay night, where a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant came over to a brother’s house and held a "make-over” session and explained to brothers how they could become Mary Kay consultants themselves, a lucrative job to have on the side to help pay off student loans. A picture is attached showing brothers and alumni prior to beginning.

Florida Chapter Family Day 2012

Florida Chapter Family Day 2012

Originally posted by Audrey S. Knickerbocker

The weekend of November 16th was deemed Family weekend for the Florida Chapter of Alpha Zeta.  Members attended Woodser on Friday night complete with a huge bonfire, smores galore, and plenty of jokes and laughter.  It was a great night to get to know each and every one of our members a little more.  We even had a few esteemed alumni attend!  We continued family weekend the next day by having a BBQ tailgate before the UF vs. Jacksonville State football game.  Many members had family members come and it was a great time to eat some delicious food, meet the families of members, and get pumped for a Gator win!  Family Weekend was a huge hit this Fall, and we are excited to continue the tradition in upcoming years!

Run for RAH

Originally posted by Aubrey B. Weibel

On Sunday, October 28th, Cook Chapter participated in the annual charity run (and fun walk for those who just wanted to participate) for Rutgers Against Hunger (RAH). In this event, you can either compete in the 5k run or simply donate and take the leisurely 1 mile walk around Busch Campus. The run was a USATF sanctioned Grand Prix 5K and prizes were given out to the fastest runners, and the groups who had the most people participate as well as those who donated the most food. Our chapter had 12 brothers, alumni and new members participate. The food donated to RAH was used to fill pantries all over New Jersey and benefited countless hungry families. $6000 was collected and donated.

UF Earth Day Service and Social 4/22/12

Originally posted by Claire D. Page

The Florida Chapter celebrated Earth Day by giving back to the community. Members cleaned up our adopted road with the help of some of our newest additions. The members that participated in the clean-up did not mind taking time out of their schedule, as the last 3 days of classes came closer and made graduation ever closer for some or the next year of school for others, to pick up the trash and get it off the street. The road clean-up was planned for the morning to avoid the heat of the day and to be completed when the Horticulture Departments Earth Day event started...
