With the first days of spring arriving, it’s a perfect time for a swim in Cayuga Lake! This year 9 brave members of our chapter formed a team to participate in the Ithaca Polar Plunge on March 22nd. The Polar Plunge is a special event in which teams gather together to run into the frigid waters of Cayuga Lake to raise support for the Special Olympics. Our team raised around $1000! We were so excited for the event and wore very brightly colored outfits to the plunge. One member even displayed his love for Alpha Zeta with an AZ speedo. Needless to say, we were one of the most enthusiastic teams at the plunge. After “freezing for a reason” we all gathered together at the Glenwood Pines restaurant for some hearty burgers and warm soup. We can’t wait for next year’s plunge!
