Cook Chapter Participates in Bedraces

On October 13th, Alpha Zeta Cook Chapter participated in the University-wide Charity Bedrace. About 90 different clubs, fraternities and sororities from all across Rutgers entered the competition, with each team decorating a bed and having 4 members race it down one of the main streets on campus. Cook Chapter decorated their bed to represent our agricultural roots, and team members raced as a farmer and her pigs. The entry fee for the race was a collection of hats and gloves that would go to children in local schools. Cook Chapter collected about 40 sets of hats and gloves to donate to the cause.

Every year, Cook/Douglass at Rutgers University hosts a Community Day geared towards getting both old and new students to join organizations affiliated with their major or interests.  Alpha Zeta is well known on our campus and we're always encouraging people to pledge.  At Community Day, we handed out flyers about AZ and a list of upcoming rush events.  We wish the best of luck to all chapters in getting wonderful members this year!

They planned it themselves and saw the White House, the Washington Monument, Lincoln's memorial, the World War II Memorial, and other monuments and museums. They also spent some time in Maryland. This was an awesome way for these brothers to kick off the summer and have some fun.

On March 6th, 14 brothers and 3 pledges helped out at a table for Special Friends Day. The activity at the table was making dream catchers and the kids that came were allowed to decorate them however they wanted. All of the kids were really very sweet and had some amazing paintings that were on their dream catchers. Feeling inspired, some of the brothers also decided to paint a bit and here are some of the pictures that they made.

Ice Cream Social and Responsible Happy Hour

Originally posted by Selina A. Ruzi

On March 4th, 20 brothers went to the Ice Cream Social that Helyar House was hosting at Responsible Happy Hour. They were raising money for Give Kids the World Village in Florida by selling ice cream at a $1 per scoop. It was an extremely fun event because who doesn't love ice cream and the money was going to a great cause. We also wanted to support one of our brothers who lives at Helyar House and helped to run the event.
