Three alpha zeta members install a hydroponic system. The initiative started with Gustavo Rodriguez who realizes that the agricultural science department did not have any efficient hydroponic system. So he decided to increase the resources used for education. The crops will be sold to raise funds for the chapter.

During March 15th to 19th, the faculty of Agricultural Science hosted one of the most important educational agricultural fair in Puerto Rico, "Five Days with Our Land" (Cinco Dias con Nuestra Tierra). At the fair, Alpha Zeta participated by setting up a table selling t-shirts which had as a reason to promote agriculture with the support of the new candidates and 15 members. The purpose of this sale is to raise funds to buy hydroponic plants and other projects.

On March 18th, four brothers participated in an open house hosted by the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. The activity was performed with the intention to guide high school students and promote our university and programs. Alpha Zeta set up a table in order to promote our chapter to visitors. Using pictures and answering questions our goal was to draw attention to the students about our agricultural programs.

Community Service

On March 6th,  5 brothers visited the Shelter of Jesus of Nazaret in Mayaguez.. The shelter's purpose is to take care for children who have been abused by their parents or guardians. Prior to this activity we had made ​​a storage facility with the intent to collect essential items and money for these to be delivered on this day. Once we raised what we needed and established a date with the shelter  we delivered the articles and share with the children, playing and talking with them.

Outdoor Confraternization

On March 2nd, several members of Alpha Zeta participated with the new candidates on an outdoor confraternization. We went to the Litoral Park in the coast of Mayaguez, near the beach. We had a fun time playing soccer and getting to know each other better.

On March 2, several members of Alpha Zeta visited "Colegio Santa Rosa" High School. The purpose of our visit was to talk to the students about the importance of agriculture and the opportunities they have to study it in college. We discussed with them about the different programs the faculty of Agricultural Science provides and its different courses. We also answered to any questions and doubts they had.

On February 24, Alpha Zeta Puerto Rico organized a gratitude activity for our counselor Dalila Rodriguez Diaz, to honor  her thirty years of service. The activity was attended by professors, students and personnel of the faculty of Agricultural Science. The activity included a semblance and a few gifts from the faculty and students members.

On February 23 a meeting was held to orientate the 10 candidates elected to join Alpha Zeta, which was attended by 7 students. During the meeting we explain what the fraternity is, its history, our mission and vision and requirements necessary to be a member of our chapter. We also talked about the different chapters, some of the activities we have done, and the academic and social benefits.

On February 8th, the "Recycling Project" of Terrace, Mayaguez conducted a workshop to create Valentine's Day cards based on reused materials. It was intended for people of all ages, including kids, youth and adults. The intention was to dare us all to reduce, reuse and recycle in a creative way. The mother of two of our own members of the chapter gave us an orientation of recycling and taught us different ways to use materials in a fun way. Materials were given to us such as paper, newspaper, glitter and buttons. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice and early Valentine's Day cake.

On January 29th our chapter had a small gathering at our chancellor Frank Acevedo house in Aguada. A total of 9 brothers assisted to the event, in which we had a fun time while eating hot dogs and snacks. Also we enjoyed our time playing games, singing karaoke and doing charades.
