Requirements for Membership
 
Student Membership
Any student enrolled at a university with a chartered chapter receiving instruction in agriculture, ranked in the upper two-fifths (2/5) of his/her class and has completed at least one academic year is eligible for consideration. The Fraternity Bylaws and chapter constitutions contain more specific student membership requirements.
 
 
Associate Membership
Associate Membership may be conferred on teaching, research, or extension staff, or upon any other outstanding agricultural leader. Election to associate membership requires a unanimous vote of the student chapter and Faculty Advisory Committee.
 
 
Honorary Membership
The High Council may, by unanimous vote, confer honorary membership upon persons of special note in agriculture." This membership is reserved for agricultural leaders who have achieved regional, national or international recognition.
 
 
 
National Membership Fees
 
Student Membership: $75
Associate Membership: $65
Honorary Membership: $65
Alumni Membership: $38/year
(Student and alumni memberships are subject to additional chapter fees)
 
 
Shipping, Late Fees, Rush Orders and Refunds
 
Applications, membership fees and any additional charges for shipping or rush orders are due 10 business days before the initiation date. This will allow the national office time to process and deliver membership certificates and pins for presentation at initiation. A Membership Application Cover Sheet (Form #1A) is required to process new member applications.
 
Applications received after the initiation date will be subject to a $5 per initiate late charge. Rush charges add $25.
 
Shipping: Shipping, late fees or rush charges must be included at the when applications are submitted. Order will not be filled until payment is received in full.
 
Late fees: Late fees of $5 per application will be charged on any order that comes AFTER the initiation date.
 
Rush charge: Rush orders may be requested for applications submitted within 10 business days of intiation. The fee is $25 plus expidited shipping.
 
Refunds: Simple overpayment will be refunded in full. Refunds for processed applications will be $55. (Affective Aug. 1, 2009)
