Every summer the North Carolina Chapter travels to Jefferson, NC for a relaxing canoe trip. On Wednesday, May 16th, the group took care of some last minute shopping and traveled to the campsite. Thursday we canoed ten miles down the river for about five hours. We had a shorter trip of about seven miles in three hours on Friday. Seven brothers camped for two nights and canoed two days while only having to pay about $45. Some brothers enjoyed learning to kayak for the first time. Others enjoyed fishing and watching wildlife in their canoe. The New River was fairly calm with rapids up to level two.

The overnight camping trip is a great fellowship experience for our chapter. We shared tents and relaxed while sitting around the fire. Thursday evening, one of the graduating seniors cooked a delicious steak dinner for the group to share. We look forward to the trip next summer!
