Three brothers went to the Dairy Educational Unit to wash the cows before the contest.  NC Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Troxler was out of town this year but Assistant Commissioner Joe Reardon came to participate against Elizabeth Gardner, meteorologist for WRAL.  The contest area was lined with cones for the arrival of the cows and the contestants were given an opportunity to practice milking. Elizabeth Gardner was looking to defend her title since she ended Commissioner Troxler’s seven-year win streak. Brothers began the contest at 11:00am and the contestants milked for two minutes. Brothers poured the buckets into jars to for measuring and the contest resulted in a tie.  Both had a great time. Elizabeth Gardner did her weather report from the Brickyard at noon and we were featured on WRAL. A link to the video is included.
