On the evening of October 16 our chapter celebrated the 20th anniversary of our house’s construction.  At 5:30 our guests began to arrive and the attendees included numerous alumni in addition to President Emeritus Frank Rhodes, former dean David Call, and current dean of CALS Kathryn Boor.

We began the evening with appetizers and fruit punch in our formal room while greeting our 30 guests.  After everyone arrived we moved downstairs to the dining room for dinner.  Our dinner ran approximately two hours and we all got to know our guests very well.  Learning about the lives of such esteemed alumni of Cornell and Alpha Zeta was quite an experience and very interesting.  After dinner President Emeritus Frank Rhodes gave a small speech congratulating our chapter’s achievements and wished us the best in our future endeavors.  After Dr. Rhodes spoke, former dean, David Call, said a few words.  He gave a very emotional speech that really made everyone remember just how special Cornell is.  In addition to the speeches our chancellor, Sara Orlowski, presented a slide show of the house’s construction.

In addition to the house’s birthday it was also the birthday the president of our corporation board.  Mr. Richard Church gleefully blew out his candles and we all proceeded to enjoy cake and coffee for the rest of the evening.
