This year, the North Carolina Chapter decided to put on its first Annual Pumpkin Sale! In honor of the spooky time of the year, our Chapter purchased small pie pumpkins from a North Carolina farm to sell on NC State’s campus. We also presold large Jack-O-Lanterns to other organizations that were interested in having a pumpkin carving social event. We began selling pumpkins on the brickyard October 8th, but our week was cut short with the visit from Hurricane Michael. So, the next week we continued to sell the pumpkins on October 17thand 18th. We just finished up our last delivery for presold pumpkins on October 23rd.

Spending time on the brickyard with fellow brothers not only helped us raise money for our organization, but also strengthened the friendships we have made within the fraternity. Overall, we sold $1,471 worth of pumpkins. After paying the farm for the pumpkins, we raised $911 for our chapter! This money will help our brotherhood better advocate for agriculture by funding events like Agriculture Awareness Week coming up in the spring. A special shout out to Brother Leigh Premo and Treasurer Daniel Wellons for making this amazing event possible!
