We had the amazing opportunity to visit a local preschool and teach them about animal agriculture! The kids were ecstatic to pet the animals and learn about what they do for us.

Chico State Alpha Zeta participated in Ag Day at the University Farm by teaching over 100 local kindergarten students about the dairy industry.

The North Carolina Chapter of Alpha Zeta hosted Ag Awareness Week in the heart of NC State's campus to promote agriculture and education about the industry to the public. 

What I learned from Alpha Zeta was how to interact with colleagues from many different backgrounds. Although I re-entered college as an older student, learning to speak with others as an agricultural professional is an important skill that will serve you well in many different jobs in this industry."

We had a chance to chat with Cal Epsilon alumnus, Raymond Maestas! Raymond graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor's Degree in Plant Science in 2007. Since then, Raymond recently celebrated his first anniversary at Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. - Dinuba Innovation and Learning Center as a Station Manager! Members of the Virginia Chapter of Alpha Zeta celebrated National Agriculture Week with an agriculture pageant, fundraising, and outreach!

"Don't be discouraged by thinking there is too much to learn. It does take time but time goes by quickly. Be curious about things in your discipline that you don't yet know well."

We had the opportunity to speak with Cal Epsilon Alumnus and U.S. Army Veteran, Walter Bentley, who graduated from Fresno State in 1969 with a Bachelors in Plant Science and a minor in Biology. Since then, Bentley has made an impact in the field of Entomology and agriculture through the UC Cooperative Extension and more, including volunteering in the Philippines, Kosovo, and Guatemala. We traveled to several North Carolina agricultural operations to meet the farmers and see their farms. Brothers were able to fellowship with brothers as well as members of the Animal Science Club.

"Alpha Zeta has helped me with my public speaking as well as my professionalism as a whole. It offered me interview practices, resume building, and networking."

Morgan Briner graduated from Fresno State in 2017 with a Bachelors in Agricultural Education, Teacher Preparation Option with an emphasis in Animal Science. Since then, Morgan has entered into the credential program. Click to read more:
