Winter Ice Skating-Cornell Chapter

Winter Ice Skating-Cornell Chapter

Originally posted by Sara K. Orlowski

After enduring a week of bitterly cold temperatures to and from class, what better way to enjoy the first weekend after the beginning of classes than to clear the snow off a local pond and go ice skating and play some impromptu hockey? On the last Saturday of January, the last day of prolonged single digit temperatures, a group of members scouted out a local pond rumored to be a good place for skating. After overcoming the challenge posed by finding a pond covered in snow on the edge of the field, they cleared it off as much they could before giving in to the temptation of skating, brought out the hockey sticks and a puck and began a game. Exhausted and cold, they made their way home for warm mugs of hot chocolate. This activity was a great way to build brotherhood among the members of the fraternity.

Members worked on landscaping the outdoor areas of the school, repainting walls and picnic benches, and laying new grass outside. It was a great night of bonding with members and new friends in ASABE, while coming together to help out a great local cause!

NC Welcomes New Brothers

Originally posted by Ashley J. Kirby

This semester, the North Carolina Chapter is proud to welcome 14 wonderful new members to the brotherhood. 42 brothers attended inductions on Wednesday, February 20th at 6:00pm. Before the ceremony, brothers brought homemade dishes or deserts for a potluck dinner.  We were thankful to have High Chancellor Weston McCorkle there to participate in the ceremony as well.  The traditional ceremony helps the new brothers understand why Alpha Zeta was founded as well as goals of the organization.
